  • First impression: At Friday night show, 15 graduate students from Academy of Art, by giving a success 2009 Fall RTWcollection to the New York’s crowd. Collaboration with Britex Fabrics San Francisco shows a voluminous looks and a smooth Fashion and Textile design. Emily Melville (Fashion Design) and Ivanka Georgieva (Textile Design) impressed me from her nine looks with a soft expression.

  • Color palette: A soft color palette in putty and creams hues.

  • Shapes and silhouettes: One piece of dresses with a belt tied plus an A-line shape, and combines wide, boxy, and voluminous printed wool coats to the garments.

  • What I liked: I really liked the color palette, the putty and cream hues made the garments with an elegant looking. I also liked those printed on garments because it showed an exquisite detail to give a life on coats without being heavy and boring.

  • What I disliked: With make up, I did not enjoy that they were using warm color to match those garments. Maybe they wanted to go a contrast tone, but I felt there was a little bit lack of balance and harmony tones.

  • Overall critique: I enjoyed that collection. As a team, their collaboration was balanced and consistent. No one was over other’s shine.

  • Proud: I have to say…I am proud of them. It is because not only I am from AAU, but also more they have done with a hard working, and finally they get a huge step into the dream stage. They deserve it!

  • Wish: I wish someday will see AAU fashion collection soon at Style.com
